Most money lost to casino play is lost after the plan stops being followed, not before. Casino bankroll management is the plan: how much a month may cost, how that splits into sessions, how big each bet is, and when to stop. PAGCOR’s responsible gaming page supplies the foundation in four short reminders, which boil down to: it is not income, cap your time, borrow nothing, and let losses go. The seven rules below build on those, with peso examples.
Casino Bankroll Management in Seven Rules
- Spare money only. If an amount is meant for bills, savings or debt, then it is not part of the bankroll.
- Sessions, not a lump sum. If the month’s money is ₱2,000, then four sessions of ₱500 stop one bad night from taking all of it.
- Stake sized to the session. If a session is ₱500, then ₱5 a spin buys 100 spins and ₱25 buys 20; pick the stake that fits the game’s volatility.
- A loss limit. If you set ₱300 as the loss limit for a ₱500 session, then the session ends when the balance reaches ₱200.
- A time limit. If an hour is the plan, then set a phone alarm before the first spin.
- No chasing. Letting losses go is one of PAGCOR’s own reminders. If the stake starts creeping up to recover what is gone, then end the session on the spot.
- Promotions inside the plan. If an offer comes with a turnover multiple, then the betting it requires still counts against the same loss limit.
TTTJILI bankroll: a worked peso example
| Step | Example figure | Rule it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Month’s play money | ₱2,000 | 1 |
| Sessions | 4 × ₱500 | 2 |
| Stake per spin | ₱5 (100 spins if nothing returns) | 3 |
| Loss limit | ₱300 per session | 4 |
| Time limit | 60 minutes | 5 |
Every number above is an example to adapt, not a target. Cashier minimums are the operator’s to set and are not visible before login, so read them on the cashier screen and adjust the plan if a minimum is larger than one session.
At the end of each month, compare what you spent with the figure you wrote down. If the two match, then the plan worked; if spending ran over, then lower next month’s amount rather than raising it.
Loss limit: setting one that holds
A loss limit earns its keep only when it is fixed ahead of time and left alone once play begins. If you reach it and feel sure the next spin will turn things around, then that certainty is exactly what the limit exists to overrule. Games with higher volatility reach a limit faster on bad runs; slot volatility for a peso session explains why. Promotion words such as turnover are defined in TTTJILI’s casino terms list.
When the Plan Stops Working: Warning Signs and Help
PAGCOR lists signs of problem gambling. If any of these sound familiar, then the bankroll is no longer the issue:
- Stakes or sessions that keep running past what you planned
- Repeated attempts to recover earlier losses
- Debt, missed bills, or borrowing, stealing or selling to keep playing
- Gambling on your mind all day, rows at home, worry or a sense of hopelessness
Help is free and confidential:
| Route | Contact | What it offers |
|---|---|---|
| National Problem Gambling Helpline | (02) 8248-9568, support@npgh.ph | Counselling 24 hours a day, every day |
| PAGCOR self-exclusion | osea.pagcor.ph for online platforms | Bans of 6 months, 1 year or 5 years |
| PAGCOR family exclusion | PAGCOR’s exclusion page | A spouse, child or parent can apply, for 6 months, 1 year or 3 years |
If you decide to use them, the order that tends to work is:
- Talk first. Call the helpline; it is not an emergency line, but counsellors answer at any hour.
- Then exclude. File a self-exclusion; its first 6 months cannot be reversed, and it applies across PAGCOR-licensed sites.
Play starts at 21, and the legal age article names everyone else who is shut out. More reading is on the TTTJILI blog page.
How to Get Started
-
Write the month's play money down
Pick an amount that would not hurt to lose entirely, after bills and savings. That number, not your balance, is the bankroll.
-
Turn it into sessions and stakes
Divide the bankroll into sessions, then each session by your stake per round. The result is the number of rounds a session buys.
-
Set both stop points out loud
Say both stop points before you log in, then quit at whichever one you hit first.
