TTTJILI Liveness Check: Pass the Wallet Selfie Step
A liveness check is the wallet's test that a live person, not a photo or a recording, is holding the phone.
- Step 1
- Open Verify Now
- Step 2
- Enter the 6-digit code
- Step 3
- Scan your ID
- Step 4
- Set up your face
- Step 5
- Take the selfie scan
- Step 6
- Review and submit
A liveness check is the moment a wallet app tests that a live person is holding the phone, and it is where many first verifications fail. This page walks the selfie step as GCash’s help page lays it out and compares it with Maya’s face match. If a message you did not ask for is pushing you towards this step, read the online scam checks for TTTJILI players first.
What a liveness check is
The wallet asks your camera for proof of a living face before it trusts the ID you just scanned. The standards body ISO calls the technique presentation attack detection and publishes it as ISO/IEC 30107-1, titled “Information technology — Biometric presentation attack detection — Part 1: Framework”. Maya’s help page describes its own version: the phone’s camera scans your face and compares it with the face data saved in your Maya account, and for an upgraded account that data comes from the video selfie and ID you submitted.
The steps, in order
These are GCash’s own steps for verification, with the selfie in the middle.
- Tap Profile, then Verify Now, then Get Started, and read the reminders.
- Enter the 6-digit code sent to your number, then confirm your birthday and that you are a Filipino citizen.
- Tap Select ID and scan the physical ID.
- Find bright light and a plain background, and take off glasses or a face mask.
- Take the selfie scan and follow the prompts, such as blinking.
- Review your information, tap Submit, and wait for the SMS update.
Selfie verification: what GCash asks of your photo
Selfie verification is the same step seen from the camera side. GCash’s failed-verification page lists the conditions that pass it.
| Condition | What to do |
|---|---|
| Lighting | Take the selfie in a bright area |
| Background | Choose a simple one with no other people |
| Face | Keep it clear and fully visible, glasses and face mask removed |
| Prompts | Follow the in-app steps, like blinking, and hold as directed |
What eKYC means for your wallet
eKYC stands for electronic know-your-customer: the wallet confirms who you are through an app instead of a counter. For a GCash user that is the whole Verify Now flow, ID scan plus selfie, and for a Maya user it is the upgrade with a video selfie and ID. The ID side of eKYC is covered in the valid IDs GCash accepts. Your result decides the limits you work with, which the pages on GCash casino top-ups and Maya casino top-ups pick up.
Why a liveness check fails
GCash’s page names the selfie photo error first: the photo was blurry, dark or covered. You can resubmit within 10 days, and after that you restart the whole process. After you resubmit, GCash’s how-to page says an update comes by SMS, and its failed-verification page says to wait 4 days after you submit additional documents.
Your selfie is rejected and the SMS says the photo was blurry, dark or covered.
Move to a bright window, clear the background of other people, remove glasses or a mask, follow the blink prompt as shown and resubmit within 10 days.
When a selfie request is a scam
A wallet’s liveness check happens inside the wallet app, after you open Profile and Verify Now yourself. A look-alike page that arrives by message and asks for your face on camera is a fake website problem, covered in the fake website warning signs. The lobby’s own notice adds a second rule: customer service must not request or record your login or withdrawal password, so a chat that asks for a selfie and a code together is not the 24CS you opened on the lobby.
A chat contact says your wallet is frozen and sends a link that opens a camera for a face scan.
Close the link, open the wallet app on your own and check Profile for a Verify Now prompt. If money has moved, report it in the app and read what a chargeback means for wallet payments.
Resubmit windows at a glance
| Event | Time GCash’s pages give |
|---|---|
| Update after submitting | SMS after 3 days |
| Update after submitting additional documents | 4 days |
| Resubmit after a photo or ID error | Within 10 days |

What is a liveness check?
It is the step where a wallet app checks that a real, live face is in front of the camera, by asking you to follow a prompt such as blinking, before it matches that face to your ID.
Bakit failed ang selfie ko sa GCash?
GCash's page names a blurry, dark or covered photo as the usual cause. Retake it in bright light with your face fully visible, glasses and mask off, and resubmit within 10 days.
Does Maya also scan my face?
Yes. Maya's help page says its face authentication uses your phone's camera and compares the scan with the face data saved in your Maya account.
Can a casino chat ask me for a selfie to verify my wallet?
A wallet runs its own selfie step inside its own app. A chat message that sends you a link to take a selfie is the pattern to treat as a scam and report.
